Coming Up This Sunday--6/17!

LGBTQ Groups will be helping to protest the NYPD's Stop-And-Frisk Policy, which discriminates against transpeople and people of color, and is generally just ineffective, invasive, and stupid. The event is a silent march from Harlem to Gracie Mansion.

We'll be meeting at 110th Street (Central Park North) and Lenox Avenue in Harlem (literally a block away from the 110th Street 2/3 stop) at 2:30 pm. From there, we'll be walking to Gracie Mansion, at 88th Street and East End Avenue. It's a longish walk, so if people get tired and want to leave they can always hop on the 6 train at 110, 96, or 88 streets. The closest subway to Gracie Mansion is the 4, 5, 6 stop at 88 street, so we'll be leaving from there.

If people come out, they'll get to meet some awesome gay rights activists - people who have been arrested dozens of times - one of my friends who may be there was one of the original founders of ACT-UP. Also, you get to be part of something - this march might actually be the deciding factor in removing Stop-And-Frisk. We're really close.
